How can users upload photos to the bot? Do I have to pay for another tool like voiceglow?
How user can upload photos to the bot, do I have to pay for another tool like voiceglow?
Haha, it reminds me of the days of WordPress and plugins for Elementor. Does anyone know another way in Voiceflow?

In Voiceflow, you can add visuals to your voice-based assistants using the Image Step. This feature allows for the display of visuals both in the prototyping view on the Custom Assistant channel, and on actual devices (like Amazon Alexa Assistant channels).
To get started with the Image Step, navigate inside an Image Step and have an intended Image or GIF to upload into your design. You can add your desired Image or GIF by dragging-and-dropping it into the editor, or click Browse and select one from your computer. Your uploaded file will have an auto-generated hosted image link by Voiceflow. Once your image is uploaded, the preview modal on the Canvas-view updates and resizes to the image properties. You can also hover over the image to preview the image in full-sized view.
You can also use a link directly with the image hosted and paste it directly on the 'Link' tab. You can also use a variable (using '{' ) to host the image link to make your image feeds more dynamic.
As for your question about needing another tool like Voiceglow, it's not necessary. All the features you need to create a voice or chat assistant, including the ability to add images, are available within Voiceflow. There's no need for additional plugins or tools.
Remember, Voiceflow is a standalone platform that provides a comprehensive set of tools for designing, prototyping, and publishing voice and chat assistants. It's designed to be user-friendly and doesn't require any coding skills, making it a great choice for beginners.
I hope this helps! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask.

Ok, assistant bot - Do you have a tutorial for me?

I have the same question, but allowing users to upload a PDF.
And then having an LLM use that PDF as its knowledge base to answer a question.
I'm new to Voiceflow, but I think the bot above is not providing you with the correct answer.
I think our question pertains to users of the chatbot. Not users of the Voiceflow interface.
Is that correct? @roninx

Yes, you are right. @tmk1221 the big problem with this support "help" channel seems like nobody from Voiceflow team is helping...

Here's another workaround I found, but the UI doesn't look professional IMO because it's pieced together

Also, this is probably not what you want, but the Voiceflow-Twilio-OpenAI Vision Tutorial takes an image as input from user
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dgTkclzQC2M&t=1807s
However, the difference is...
- user uploads image through SMS (on their phone)
- not via the Voiceflow chat UI
@roninx Indeed, there seems to be a misconception about the purpose of this channel and our Discord server.
This isn't a direct line to the Voiceflow support team, but rather a community-driven platform. Our Discord server thrives on the participation and contributions of our community members. While our team does chime in occasionally, it's primarily a space for users to share, collaborate, and help each other.
Regarding your question, it depends of your level of expertise. If you know how to code what you need, this can be done without using another service.
Chat Widget extensions are in BETA rn and allow you to run your own code in the Chat widget, like a file upload for example.

@roninx we can easily upload any file type using extensions.

in order to upload images to voiceflow's web chat, you don't need voiceglow.
similarly, if you have a chatbot on whatsapp, telegram, instagram, messenger, slack, discord, you can upload images without the need of any third party tools

@Utkarsh-Marwaha Please please you have tutorial for me? I just want that the user be able to upload photos and store it in airtable as a link or anything else...

The ability to upload within the chat is vital to all my application use cases. Customers frequently want documents summarised, checked for conforming to SOPs or for text extraction
Similarly the ability to update the KB adds multiple new opportunities.
I see the chat widget is imminent, I just hope it is a seamless implementation!
