Need help customizing carousel + button design in Voiceflow
I’m trying to customize the look and styling of components in my Voiceflow build. Here's what I want to do:
- Redesign the carousel layout and styling
- Change the buttons inside the carousel (color, layout, etc.)
- Add a background color or background image behind the carousel
- Fix the image cropping issue — should I resize my Canva images, or can I change the image container size in VF?
- I also use Button steps and Choice blocks throughout — can I customize the styling of those too (e.g., rounded edges, hover effects)?
Can this be done by injecting custom code into the chatbot embed snippet I use on my site?
Or do I need to skip the default carousel node and build a custom version using Dev blocks?
If so, what code types are supported (HTML, CSS, JS)? Any docs or examples showing where and how to implement this would be great.
Thanks in Advance!!!

@Nicolaas Are you creating dynamic carousels or dragging them in, in the canvas?
most of what you've asked can be done via css, you'll need to link to an external css file as instructed here https://docs.voiceflow.com/docs/embed-customize-styling or you can do it inline in the widget https://discord.com/channels/1079548823610871889/1335991918940655646
Thanks agent Steve, will check it out now and see whats possible
@Nicolaas No worries, just so you know if you are dragging them into the canvas you can change the layout like this.
