No More Testing Personas?
We're experiencing a significant issue with our voice agent, which we were supposed to release soon. Until yesterday, we were able to run tests in Voiceflow under pre-set personas (which was essential, as we needed to test user authentication with phone numbers.) Now, when we go to test, there's no way to select a testing persona, which means we can't test anything (including user authentication.) This appears to be an overnight change that is having significant repercussions as we prepare to go live. Can someone from VF chime in, please? How can we keep testing?

Nothing has been removed – the Persona/Variable-State picker is still in the Test tool, it’s just been tucked behind the small ▼ menu beside the Run Test button.
How to load one of your saved test personas 1. Click the ► Play icon on the canvas (or press R) to open the Test modal. 2. In the top-right of the modal, click the ▼ arrow that sits immediately to the right of Run Test. 3. Choose “Select variable state”. You’ll see the list of personas you created (e.g. “Authenticated User”). 4. Pick the persona you need and hit Run Test – the assistant will start with the variables, phone number, and start-block you saved for that persona. You can also open the left-hand sidebar inside the Test modal and use the “Select a Persona” dropdown there to switch personas or edit them. (Same panel lets you add a brand-new persona if you need to.) If the dropdown is completely empty your personas may not have been saved in this assistant – just click Add New and recreate them; they’re stored at the assistant level so everyone on the team will see them once saved. Give that a try and you should be able to continue authentication testing as before. Let us know if the menu still doesn’t appear on your end!

Another one of my teammates reached out to you guys earlier and got the same response. However, neither of us have the ► Play icon .

Oh wow, yeah that's a huge issue for our team....we use that feature for everything, both voice- and chat-related. Email sent!

So… was this resolved @earcher_ ?? I have the dame issue thought it would be a temporal bug but now it has become a real problem 😣
Hi @Clau , it's not a bug we just hid the feature as we have plans to redo this feature
The challenge in redoing features is often it makes the old version incompatible

What plan are you on today? @Clau we've been doing some manual turn-ons for the feature on ENT as it's easier for those accounts as they're on private cloud envs
