Managing dynamic lane switching and FAQ returns in Voiceflow
What I’m looking to achieve:
I want users to be able to switch between Buyer, Seller, or Browser/FAQ lanes at any time during a conversation, and always return to their original flow without losing context or repeating themselves. For example, if a user is in the Buyer lane and asks a general property or agency question, the bot should answer via the FAQ agent and then automatically bring them back to where they were in the Buyer flow.
What the issue is:
Right now, after segmenting users (Buyer/Seller/Browser), each lane runs as a separate agent. If a user wants to switch intent (“Actually, I want to sell”) or ask a FAQ, there’s no smooth way to route them temporarily and then return to the right place. If they ask multiple questions, it’s even harder to manage. I want to avoid making users repeat their goal or restart the flow.
Solutions I’ve already tried:
• Considering intents to trigger lane/agent jumps (helps with Buyer↔Seller), but it’s unclear how to resume the original flow after a FAQ detour.
• Prompting the user (“Would you like to continue with your valuation?”) after each FAQ answer, but this isn’t ideal for users who want to ask several questions in a row.

(See attached screenshot for how my segmentation and agent structure looks right now.)
Summary:
What’s the best way in Voiceflow to let users fluidly switch intent or ask FAQs anywhere in the conversation—and then always return to the correct place in their original lane? Looking for a clear, maintainable way to handle FAQ detours and lane switching.
Thanks for any advice or examples.
