Initial Prompt

Dear friends, I'm a very fresh user of VF. When starting, the tool asks me to describe what kind of agent I want to build and then based on my initial prompt, creates the template. Is there any way how to edit or adjust that initial prompt later on ? Once my template is created (agent is created) I struggle to find where that initial prompt I gave it is and where I can adjust it. Thank you for your help!

Hey there!
Absolutely – that first description is just the Agent’s Instructions (its system-prompt) and you can edit it any time. How to find & update it 1. Open the project that Voiceflow generated for you.
2. On the canvas, click the step labelled Agent (it’s usually the very first step).
3. The right-hand sidebar will open. At the top you’ll see a large text box called Instructions – that’s the prompt you wrote.
4. Make your changes directly in that box and they’re saved instantly. If you’d like Voiceflow to re-generate new instructions, type a new description and click the ⚡ (lightning) icon. That’s it! Every Agent step you add has its own Instructions field, so if you decide to create additional Agent steps you’ll edit them the same way. More details:

I think they may have been asking regarding VF’s new “what do you want to build” feature. If that’s the case, I don’t believe that once the template is generated you can’t re-prompt it to add / adjust. You’d either have to continue building out the current project you’re working on or try a new, maybe more detailed prompt to try to get it built how you want the first time.

You can't use prompts to change existing projects.... yet 😉

Hi CVB, yes, this is exactly what I was asking... I'm aware that I can modify partial steps but I was looking for modifying/adjusting that very first "What do you want to build". In Relevance AI they have such option to continually adjust the basic DNA prompt and I think it's very useful. Please, consider this.
