OpenAI Assistant answers better than VF Knowledge, why?

I've been comparing my answers with an openai assistant vs VF knowledge and I'm trying to figure out why my openai assitant answers are so much better and more accurate. I am trying to use the same instructions and the same model yet I can't duplicate the answers with VF. Any ideas?
